Mrs. Johnson’s Classroom Updates

Digital photography students worked in the lab today turning in portraits.  Portraits should be in by the end of today.  We will be photographing colors tomorrow.

Game design students are working on a meteor game.  We will be in the classroom tomorrow since the lab is closed for testing.

Mentor connection students are out with mentors until Thursday this week.  They will spend Friday and Monday in the lab working on their final paper for class.

Digital photography students began the process of choosing their best 30 portraits to turn in.  We reviewed what makes a photo a portrait and what makes that portrait good.  We will be in the lab again tomorrow.

Game design students began a new game today.  This is likely to be the last one.

Mentor connection students were with their mentors today.  The moodle site will be down over the weekend, so students were encouraged to get their stuff in tonight if possible (its worth bonus points if they do) or by Monday at midnight.

Digital photography students saved and evaluated their photos in the lab today.  We will have a couple more days to take portraits before they will be due.

Game design students are working out the final bugs in their hide-and-seek game.  We should be done soon.

Mentor connection students are out with their mentors Monday - Thursday.  Seniors will be on the class trip on Friday and will have to moodle over the weekend to get stuff in by Sunday midnight.

Game design students are working hard to meet tomorrow’s deadline for moon fighter.

Mentor Connection students spent the period with their mentors.  They will be in the lab tomorrow reflecting on their week’s experiences.

Digital Photography students viewed a PowerPoint on portrait photography today.  Then we looked at websites with portraits to see what we liked and didn’t like and to get ideas for taking portraits beginning tomorrow.  Students will be working in pairs to take photos in class for this assignment.  Websites suggested were www.candaceann.com and www.evansimages.com

Game design students are working on completing Moon Fighter.  Games are due Friday.

Digital photography class began taking pictures today for the new assignment.  The new theme is contrast.  Students will turn in their best 10 photos next week Thursday or Friday.  A good source to look at contrast pictures would be http://www.betterphoto.com/gallery/dynoGall2.asp?catID=389  All photos must be taken in color.  Remember what you have learned about photographic composition so far.  Don’t just randomly snap pics and hope for the best.  Compose your shot!

Game design is making progress.  We now have 3 working games!  :-)

Mentor connection students spent the day in the lab working on this week’s journal, PowerPoint and Quiz.  Make sure you read the PP before taking the quiz.  You can only access the quiz 1 time, so only click on it if you are ready to take it.  Remember that all of week three’s assignments are due by midnight Sunday.  Check your feedback from week 2, so you can avoid making the same errors on future assignments.
